We open in Cluj-Napoca the fifth clinic at national level, with unique medical services in Transylvania

Cluj-Napoca, January 28, 2022. The “Dr. Holhoș” network of ophthalmology clinics is opening its fifth nationwide facility in Cluj-Napoca, offering patients top-notch medical services, including a range of minimally invasive and proven effective surgeries. For the first time in Transylvania and Cluj County, the SMILE PRO laser surgery, the second generation of LASER Smile surgeries, will be available. Launched worldwide last year, SMILE PRO technology brings new benefits for both patient and doctor: it allows surgeries also for + (hypermetropia) diopters, and can perform the surgeries in just 7 seconds. The Zeiss Visumax 800 device, which performs these surgeries, is the most advanced laser equipment available today. Dr. Holhoș clinic puts Cluj on the medical map of cities where SMILE PRO surgery is performed in the world.

Another premiere in Cluj County and Transylvania is the Presbyond surgery. It is designed to correct presbyopia, a disorder that develops with age. Presbyond is currently the fastest and most effective laser treatment in the world for patients with this diagnosis, and is the only laser surgery designed for people with presbyopia over the age of 40. Presbyond surgery will be available for the first time to patients in Cluj and neighboring counties. Previously, the “Dr. Holhoș” clinic in Sibiu was the only one in the entire Transylvania region where this surgery could be performed. So far, more than 75,000 people have been treated in the network’s clinics, with Dr. Teodor Holhoș performing several thousand surgeries.

The new clinic in Cluj-Napoca is run by ophthalmic surgeon Dr. Teodor Holhoș and is staffed by experienced specialists, offering patients from the city and the entire region a full range of specialist ophthalmological treatments and examinations, as well as surgical procedures: laser diopter reduction surgeries, cataract surgeries, retinal surgeries and other types of interventions.

At the clinic in Cluj all types of laser surgeries for diopter reduction will be performed: using Zeiss SMILE and SMILE PRO technology, FemtoLASIK surgeries and Excimer PRK laser surgeries. The revolutionary RelEx SMILE PRO technology, designed to correct myopia, astigmatism and more recently hypermetropia, is the most advanced generation of laser surgical technology, providing immediate results without the patient feeling any pain. Almost all surgeries in the clinic will be performed by Dr. Teodor Holhoș, who will also provide examinations in preparation for surgeries.

The clinic will also provide a full range of specialist investigations, some of which are a first in Transylvania and even in the country. We mention here the suite of investigations for refractive surgery, performed with MS-39, unique in the country, Pentacam AXL Wave and Atlas topographer. Investigations and treatments are performed with state-of-the-art equipment, from laser diabetes, laser secondary cataract, glaucoma investigations, computerized visual field, optic nerve tomography (OCT), retinal tomography (OCT), ocular ultrasound, biometry and non-contact Plusoptix autorefractometry for children. Important note regarding patient consultations and surgery appointments

A patient who cancels a consultation or surgery appointment once, at least one day prior to the scheduled appointment, has the right to a second appointment under the same conditions.
If the patient cancels the second consultation and/or surgery appointment, a new appointment can be made only if the patient accepts to pay for both the consultation and the surgery in advance. This can be done either by payment order or in cash at the clinic reception.
A patient who does not show up for their consultation or surgery, who does not cancel the appointment in due time, or does not answer the clinic’s calls, may request a second appointment only if they pay for the consultation/surgery in advance. 
Patients requesting an appointment for retinal surgeries or laser Prk/Femtolasik/Smile Pro must pay 30% of the cost of the surgery in advance. The appointment will be scheduled only after receiving the advance payment. If the patient is unable to attend the scheduled consultation or surgery, and cancels the intervention at least 48 hours beforehand, they will be refunded in full. If the patient does not show up and does not cancel or contact the clinic at least 48 hours in advance, the advance paid is considered to be lost as damages and will no longer be refunded.
