What type of lens can you choose?
Artificial lenses can be monofocal or multifocal. At Dr. Holhoș clinics, you can choose from premium, customized multifocal lens versions – Johnson & Johnson, Bausch and Zeiss – as well as standard monofocal versions.
Multifocal artificial lenses copy the natural lens and thus eliminate the need to wear glasses, both for near and for distance. Artificial lenses also eliminate cataract, if the patient is also diagnosed with cataract.
Multifocal lenses can be trifocal (offering 95% independence from glasses, for distance, near and intermediate), bifocal (offering 85% independence from glasses, for distance and near, and EDOF bifocals provide distance, intermediate and near vision up to 60 cm), or toric, suitable for patients with astigmatism.
Monofocal artificial lenses provide good vision at one distance. Following this surgery, you will still need glasses, either distance or near, depending on the distance corrected with your chosen lens.
