In October 2021, Dr. Holhoș team attended the ESCRS (European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons) Congress in Amsterdam, the most important ophthalmic surgery event in Europe.
We are glad that we were able to participate together with the team of doctors: Dr. Teodor Holhoș, Dr. Flavia Vonica, Dr. Laurențiu Stupariu, Dr. Alexandra Țicle, Dr. Cristina Grigore. ESCRS gives us the opportunity to see and test all the new technologies and devices in the field of refractive and cataract surgery, the most requested surgeries in our clinics. Companies such as Zeiss, Ziemmer, Bausch & Lomb, Johnson & Johnson, exhibit their latest devices and products during these events.
Dr. Holhoș had the opportunity to test surgeries on the newest Ziemmer Z8 Neo laser, capable of performing refractive surgery with the 3rd generation laser, and the only one capable of performing cataract surgery as well.
We had the chance to familiarize ourselves with Zeiss’ newest refractive platform, the VisuMax 800, the first in the world that can perform surgeries at + (plus) diopters. Dr. Holhoș had the opportunity to perform the first SMILE PRO surgery at +6 diopters. The performance of this exceptional, ultra high-performance device, with its unique precision and abilities, amazed us and made us want this device in Dr. Holhoș clinics.
Another state-of-the-art piece of equipment tested at ESCRS was the new Schwind ATOS laser, the only one to receive the German Innovation Award 2021. It is one of the most powerful femtosecond lasers, and Dr. Holhoș had the opportunity to perform a test surgery on one of the devices on display at ESCRS. The laser is equipped with a unique eye tracking system, and offers unparalleled speed, accuracy and safety, especially for cases of astigmatism surgery.
It is important for us to stay up to date of new developments in the field, as we want our patients to benefit from the newest ophthalmic technologies and services.
